Boeing employees will vote on a new proposal that might resolve the strike

Boeing and its machinists’ union have reached a new contract proposal that could potentially end a month-long strike that has impacted the manufacturer’s production. The ratification vote is scheduled for Wednesday, following a meeting between both parties and Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Julie Su earlier in the week. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 751 released a statement expressing their support for the proposed resolution, acknowledging the efforts made to end the strike.

The strike began on September 13 after machinists rejected a tentative agreement that included 25% wage increases over four years. Boeing later improved their offer, but the union criticized it, claiming it was not negotiated. Both Boeing and the union are looking forward to the employees voting on the new proposal.

The situation is still developing, and updates are pending. Stay tuned for more details on the progress of the contract negotiations between Boeing and the machinists’ union.
