Multiple people died in a tragic helicopter crash in Houston on Sunday night when the aircraft struck a radio tower and sparked a large fire. Police Chief J. Noe Diaz stated that the private helicopter was carrying four people, including a child, and that there were multiple fatalities as a result of the crash. The Houston Fire Department reported that the incident occurred in the city’s Second Ward neighborhood, and the fire spread several blocks before being contained. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to anyone on the ground. The helicopter involved was identified as a Robinson R44 that had departed from Ellington Field, although its destination remains unknown. The identities of those on board have not been released. Both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will be conducting investigations into the crash. The community is mourning the loss of lives in this tragic accident as authorities work to determine the cause of the helicopter crash.
