Travelers returning from holiday weekend clog New Jersey’s highways

Thousands of travelers faced heavy traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike on Sunday as they returned home following the Thanksgiving weekend. Many drivers, who traveled as far north as Rhode Island and as far south as Washington, D.C., were exhausted but grateful for the time spent with family and the delicious food consumed over the holiday.

For New Jersey residents, holiday weekend traffic congestion is a common occurrence, with the return trip often being just as hectic as the outbound journey. AAA has warned that Monday will likely bring continued heavy traffic, with the worst time to travel being between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Despite the challenges of navigating through the heavy traffic, travelers remained positive and thankful for the time spent with loved ones during the holiday weekend. As the holiday season continues, many are looking forward to more quality time with family and friends, hoping to make lasting memories regardless of the traffic delays.
