Following them are new No. 2 Hun, Winslow Township, and Don Bosco Prep. Bergen Catholic claimed the Non-Public A state crown with a 25-7 win over Don Bosco Prep. DePaul Catholic also secured a state title by defeating Pope John XXIII 33-21 in the Non-Public B championship. Despite a loss to nationally ranked St. Frances Academy, Hun remains a strong squad. Winslow Township showcased their skills with a 13-7 victory over Millville.
Don Bosco Prep, despite being an 8-4 team, proved their strength by competing closely against top teams like Bergen Catholic and DePaul Catholic. Toms River North dominated their opponents throughout the season, finishing with a 41-14 win over Union City for the Group 5 state championship. Other notable victories include St. Joseph Regional defeating Point Pleasant Boro 44-10 and Glassboro triumphing over Cedar Grove 56-14 in the Group 1 title game.
Pope John XXIII faced tough competition against ranked teams but still made it to the championship game, eventually falling to DePaul Catholic. Pascack Valley’s season ended with a loss to NV – Old Tappan.
