New Jersey 101.5 is set to host a special Town Hall broadcast on Thursday at 7 p.m. titled “Targeted: Protecting New Jersey Children from Online Predators.” The program will address the alarming crisis of online child predators and how children and parents can protect themselves in the digital age.
According to the FBI, there are an estimated 500,000 predators online daily, with children between the ages of 12 and 15 most at risk. These predators can be found on social media sites, online gaming platforms, chatrooms, and other platforms popular among kids.
The broadcast will feature a panel of experts including John Pizzuro, CEO of Raven and former commander of the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force; Alicia Kozak, internet safety expert and founder of The Alicia Project; Stephanie Lyon, licensed clinical psychologist and assistant professor of clinical psychology at Rutgers University; and Gina Cavallo, a consultant and vice president for the Board of Trustees for the New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking.
Listeners can tune in to the program live on New Jersey 101.5’s various platforms or access the program through online streaming. This Town Hall aims to provide parents with the most up-to-date information on identifying and protecting their children from online predators.
