Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way and the New Jersey-India Commission are currently in India for the inaugural New Jersey-India Commission economic mission, aiming to strengthen economic ties with India, particularly in the life sciences and technology sectors. During their visit to Bengaluru, the delegation engaged in various activities to promote bilateral growth and collaboration.
Lieutenant Governor Way delivered a keynote speech at the TiE Global Summit, where she emphasized the shared economic goals between New Jersey and India and signed a Letter of Intent with Karnataka to advance the life sciences and technology industries. The delegation also toured Infosys’ campus, met with technology organizations at the Bangalore Bio-Innovation Centre, and witnessed the signing of a renewed Memorandum of Understanding between Choose New Jersey, ABLE, and ILSE.
Their visit also included a meeting with Mrs. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson and Managing Director of Biocon Ltd., to explore potential collaborations in research and development within the biotechnology sector. The delegation’s efforts aim to create new partnerships, enhance innovation, and foster economic growth between New Jersey and India.
