New Study Finds New Jersey Residents Are More Profane Than Average Americans.

The use of profanity in the United States has increased significantly, with a study showing an 80 percent rise in cuss words during business conference calls from 2018 to 2021. Additionally, the use of the F-word on television shows saw a 43.4 percent increase from 2021 to 2022. Surveys have shown that a majority of Americans frequently encounter profanity in public and admit to using the F-word themselves.

Research conducted by NFT Plazas revealed that New Jersey residents use the F-word the second most out of all states in online posts, with Texas taking the top spot. Despite this, many former New Jersey residents have moved to Texas in recent years. The top ten states that use the most profanity online include Texas, New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina, Iowa, Hawaii, and Minnesota.

The study sheds light on the prevalence of profanity in American English vernacular and the impact of social media and online communities on the use of cuss words in everyday language.
