A heroic police officer in New Jersey has saved an 11-year-old boy from an icy lake in West Long Branch. The boy fell through the thawing ice at Franklin Lake while trying to take a shortcut home. Patrolman Dave Brosonski, an experienced water rescue instructor, bravely went out onto the ice, tied with a rope for safety, and pulled the boy to safety. Bodycam footage captured the tense moments of the rescue as the boy cried and feared getting in trouble. The boy was unharmed but taken to a local hospital as a precaution and is expected to recover fully. Brosonski humbly stated that he was just doing his job and would have risked his life to save anyone in need. The community has hailed him as a hero for his quick thinking and bravery.
