Jimmy Johnson, a successful coach who won two Super Bowls and a national championship, has announced his retirement from Fox Sports after 31 years of being a part of its NFL coverage. The 81-year-old made the announcement on “The Herd With Colin Cowherd,” expressing that his time at Fox was the most fun he had in his career, even more so than his Super Bowl and national championship wins. Johnson praised working with CEO Eric Shanks and Fox NFL Sunday producer Bill Richards.
After contemplating his decision for the past few years, Johnson has decided to retire from Fox, stating that he will miss the camaraderie with his colleagues. Throughout his tenure at Fox, Johnson worked alongside Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Michael Strahan.
Throughout his career, Johnson achieved great success, winning Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys in the 1992-93 seasons and the college football national championship with Miami in 1987. Despite his retirement, Johnson expressed gratitude for his time at Fox Sports and the opportunities he had to work with the talented individuals on the team.
