Upper Makefield Fire Company recently lent their assistance to the New Jersey Forest Service in tackling a large 75-acre brush fire in Hopewell Township, New Jersey. The fire posed a threat to 30 structures in the area. Tanker 71 from Upper Makefield responded to the scene at 9:55 p.m. on Saturday as part of a Task Force to help contain the blaze on Poor Farm Road. The crew worked throughout the night, providing aid until 5:46 a.m. on Sunday.
In addition to Upper Makefield Fire Company, fire companies from four counties and two states were also involved in battling the fire, including New Hope Eagle and the Midway Volunteer Fire Company from Bucks County. The collaborative effort resulted in successfully containing and extinguishing the brush fire, preventing any damage to the structures in the area. This incident highlights the importance of teamwork and mutual aid between fire departments in responding to emergency situations.
