Wawa’s CEO named Chairman of the NJ Food Council


The New Jersey Food Council (NJFC) has announced the appointment of Jason Read, senior vice president of store operations at Wawa, as its new chairman of the NJFC Board of Directors. This appointment comes after the successful leadership of Andrew Kent of Glass Gardens ShopRite. Read, who has extensive experience at Wawa, aims to prioritize the advancement of NJFC’s legislative agenda, including tackling Organized Retail Crime and updating the Strategic Plan to align with industry needs in 2025. The NJFC Annual Meeting also saw the election of new officers, including Mike Styer as vice chairman and Linda Doherty as president & CEO.
