The annual Latina Empowerment Brunch returned to Newark recently, bringing together local community leaders, professionals, and students to celebrate achievements and provide career advice. The event, held at Newark Symphony Hall, featured notable speakers such as Mayor Ras Baraka and Deputy Mayor Jacqueline Mercado-Quiles, as well as Latina leaders from various fields including law, journalism, education, and firefighting.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear the inspiring stories of successful Latinas and network with other professionals. The event aimed to honor Latina women for their accomplishments and inspire young girls to pursue their own goals and dreams in any field they choose.
Sponsored by Popular Community Bank and Wellpoint, the brunch served as a platform for empowerment and networking for Latinas in Newark. Deputy Mayor Mercado-Quiles expressed her joy in hosting the event and highlighted its importance in recognizing and celebrating the contributions of Latina women in the community.
