A powerful storm hit the Tri-State area, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and flooding that left drivers stranded in Newark, Hillside, and the Bronx. Newark was particularly hard hit, with major flooding causing vehicles to become stuck on roads. In Hillside and the Bronx, strong winds knocked down trees, damaging homes, cars, and power lines. Over 1,400 JCP&L customers were without power by 10:30 p.m., with Con Ed and PSEG also reporting a few hundred customers affected. Crews are currently working to restore power in the affected areas. The storm caused chaos and destruction, with drivers facing dangerous conditions on flooded roads and residents dealing with property damage and power outages. FOX 5’s Kendall Green reported on the latest storm damage and recovery efforts in the area. The severe weather serves as a reminder of the importance of being prepared and taking caution during storms in order to stay safe and minimize damage.
