Islanders Send Cholowski to Devils in Exchange for Beckman

The New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils have made a trade, with the Islanders sending defenseman Dennis Cholowski to the Devils in exchange for forward Adam Beckman. Cholowski, who has one goal in six games with the Bridgeport Islanders and three goals in 33 games with the New York Islanders this season, has 13 goals and 40 points in 150 career NHL games. The 27-year-old will report to the Devils and will not be eligible for the AHL playoffs.

Beckman, on the other hand, has 13 goals and 33 points in 43 games with the Utica Comets this season. The 23-year-old forward has recorded two assists in 11 NHL games with the Minnesota Wild last season and has three assists in 23 career NHL games. He is known for his playmaking skills and will bring an offensive boost to the Bridgeport team, which has struggled to score goals this season. Beckman is a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

Cholowski will provide depth to the Devils’ defense, as the team is currently facing injuries to Jonas Siegenthaler and Dougie Hamilton. Cholowski is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
