Several high school sports teams in New Jersey have had successful seasons, with standout players earning recognition for their accomplishments. The Nutley/Columbia/Bloomfield ice hockey team, coached by Dave Macri, performed well in the state tournament thanks to senior Alex Benkert and junior Christian Sherman’s impressive stats. Glen Ridge High School’s boys basketball team saw sophomore Ryan Law earn First Team honors in the All-Super Essex Conference-Freedom Division for his double-double average. Belleville High School’s spring teams are gearing up for their upcoming seasons, with various sports starting their games in March and April. Seton Hall Prep’s bowling team had several players honored by the Super Essex Conference-Colonial Division coaches for their outstanding achievements. Columbia High School’s wrestling team also had numerous members recognized for their skills in the conference. West Orange High School’s boys basketball players Jaden Then, Nick Matos, and Evan Whitaker received All-Super Essex Conference-Freedom Division honors. Orange High School’s basketball team players Gregory Burton and Sydney Carrington were recognized in the Independence Division. Glen Ridge and West Orange high schools’ spring teams are also preparing for their upcoming seasons, with games set to start in March and April.
