Police: Vehicle Crash Causes Fire at Manalapan Home


A Manalapan resident was rescued from their home after a car crashed into it, causing a fire early Tuesday morning. The crash occurred on Craig Road in the area of Symmes Drive at 5:02 a.m. The vehicle left the road and collided with the house, leading to the home catching on fire. Fortunately, passing motorists were able to remove the driver from the vehicle before emergency services arrived. The driver was treated by Atlantic EMS and taken to the hospital. The sole occupant of the home was safely rescued, along with a dog that escaped the house. The Gordons Corner Fire Company and neighboring departments responded to extinguish the fire. The investigation is being handled by Detective Matthew Meyler of the Manalapan Township Police Department and the Monmouth County Fire Marshall’s Office. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and emergency preparedness in the community.
