New Policy at New Jersey Mall Requires Minors to Have Chaperone

Cherry Hill Mall in New Jersey has implemented a new policy requiring visitors under 18 to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian after 4 pm on Saturdays or whenever the policy is in effect. The decision was made to create a safe and family-friendly environment following a recent incident involving teenagers at the mall. Mall security will enforce the policy by monitoring entrances, with parents or guardians held responsible for those they accompany. Proof of age will be required if age is not easily determined. Teenagers who work at the mall will be allowed to come and go without a chaperone but must carry proof of employment. The new policy began on April 5th, with the flexibility for dates and times to change. The move harkens back to the days of 80’s and 90’s mall culture in New Jersey, with nostalgia for stores of the past.
