South Jersey high school achieves historic victory in girls’ flag football championship


The Burlington Township girls’ flag football team in New Jersey is making history as the first team in the Burlington County Scholastic League to host an in-season conference tournament for high school girls’ flag football. Coached by Lacey Walker, the Falcons showed incredible energy, passion, and skill, ultimately winning the championship. The team, in its first season, is paving the way for future teams to come. Girls’ flag football is the fastest-growing sport, with the number of participating schools increasing from 16 in 2021 to 98 in 2025. The team’s success and dedication are a testament to the growing popularity of the sport among young female athletes.
