Wheat Ridge, CO—A tragic incident on Easter Sunday resulted in the death of 28-year-old Cali Federico from Flemington, New Jersey. Federico succumbed to injuries sustained in a stabbing, which occurred during a confrontation involving two women on Sheridan Boulevard around 3:27 p.m. Witnesses reported that the altercation ended with one woman stabbing the other before fleeing the scene.
Federico, who had been in the Denver area for about a month, was preparing to return home just two days later. According to a GoFundMe page set up for her family, she was reportedly attacked while removing valuables from her car and checking into a hotel—an act described as her “protecting her possessions.” Authorities say she was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The suspect, 47-year-old Imani Tate, was arrested shortly after the incident. She faces charges of second-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and third-degree assault, with a $1 million bail set. Federico, an artist from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was in Colorado to sell her artwork. A fundraising page highlights her creative spirit and the love her family held for her.
