Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival Celebrates Innovation and Education

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The 14th annual Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival captivated attendees on Saturday with its signature event, the Giant Science and Technology Expo. This free, full-day celebration provided a platform for participants to engage with cutting-edge technology and hands-on experiments.

More than 60 STEM organizations from the community showcased captivating demonstrations, allowing visitors to interact directly with scientists, researchers, and STEM professionals from Southern Nevada. The event featured a variety of live demonstrations, including robotics, virtual reality experiences, and even wildlife encounters. Attendees had the unique opportunity to examine genuine prehistoric fossils excavated from archaeological sites across Nevada, offering a tangible connection to the state’s rich history.

A notable highlight of this year’s festival was the continuation of a new tradition that rewards educational participation. The festival awarded $1,000 to the Clark County School District (CCSD) school with the highest attendance, with Billy and Rosemary Vassiliadis Elementary School claiming the Giant Expo Attendance Award this year.

The festival not only serves as a celebration of science and technology but also fosters community engagement and inspires the next generation of innovators. By bringing together families, educators, and STEM professionals, it cultivates a spirit of curiosity and learning that extends far beyond the event itself.

As Las Vegas continues to grow as a hub for technology and innovation, the annual Science and Technology Festival remains a crucial event in promoting STEM education and community involvement. Organizers are already looking forward to next year’s expo, eager to continue inspiring and educating future leaders in science and technology.
