Cowboys Begin OTAs with Fresh Faces and New Numbers
The Dallas Cowboys have kicked off their Organized Team Activities (OTAs), showcasing some fresh jersey numbers for the upcoming 2025 NFL season. Among the notable changes is linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, who is currently in recovery from a serious knee injury. During team drills at The Star, Overshown was spotted donning No. 0—a nod to his college days at the University of Texas.
This marks the third jersey number for Overshown in his brief career, following No. 35 in his rookie year and No. 13 during a standout 2024 season. By wearing No. 0, he is set to become the first player in Cowboys history to sport this unique number. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones previously jokingly claimed the number belonged to the team’s mascot, Rowdy, who wears No. 00.
Despite his injury, Overshown was actively engaged on the field, participating in rehab activities. Reports from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram highlight that he’s added upper body mass, indicating his commitment to physical improvement even while sidelined. Once fully fit, Overshown will join a solid linebacker unit that includes Kenneth Murray Jr., Marist Liufau, and Rookie talents Shemar James and Justin Barron.
Defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus is known for his effective development of linebackers, thus expectations are high for a productive season ahead for the Cowboys’ defense. Fans are eager for Overshown, now nicknamed “Agent 0,” to make a swift return to form, bringing added depth and talent to a promising linebacker group. The Cowboys’ offseason developments signal exciting potential as they gear up for the season ahead.
