Rapper Macklemore’s home in Seattle was burglarized by masked men who attacked his nanny with bear spray. The incident occurred early Saturday morning when the nanny, after putting Macklemore’s three children to bed, encountered two men who had broken in through a patio door. The assailants, wearing tactical gear and carrying bear mace, demanded to know where valuables were located.
During the altercation, the taller man commanded the shorter one to spray the nanny with bear mace, which he did while unsuccessfully trying to help clean it off afterward. Despite the initial chaos, the nanny managed to direct them to the home’s primary bedroom, where they ransacked drawers and closets, stealing multiple watches, jewelry, and shoes.
The situation escalated as the shorter man physically restrained the nanny, pinning her against a wall and covering her mouth. In a moment of desperation, she bit his hand, which allowed her to escape the house. After running to neighbors for help, she was able to call the police. By the time authorities arrived, the burglars had fled, but they successfully secured the safety of the children.
The police report indicated that the home belonged to a “high-profile individual,” which aligns with Macklemore’s identity as he shares the last name “Davis” with his wife, Tricia. Though it is unclear if Macklemore, whose real name is Ben Haggerty, was present during the robbery, he had performances scheduled in Ireland shortly thereafter.
