Press Release: Excitement Builds as 2026 FIFA World Cup Kicks Off with Fan Festival in Jersey City
Liberty State Park in Jersey City is set to become the vibrant epicenter of the 2026 FIFA World Cup festivities, just one year ahead of the anticipated tournament. Officials inaugurated the celebrations with a preview of the FIFA Fan Festival New York, New Jersey, promising an exhilarating experience for tens of thousands of football fans throughout the 39-day event.
Fans can look forward to over 100 matches broadcast on numerous large screens, complemented by a variety of engaging activities. On non-game days, Live Nation will enhance the atmosphere with live concerts in the park, ensuring there is entertainment for all.
The initiative includes the Skyline to Shore Road Tour, allowing everyone to participate in the World Cup excitement, regardless of whether they secure tickets to one of the 80,000 seats at MetLife Stadium—where the tournament’s final match will be held.
From June 11 to July 19, 2026, the World Cup will feature 106 matches, and as NYNJ Host Committee CEO Alex Lasry noted, the festival offers an incredible opportunity for fans to immerse themselves in the spirit of the event.
