Tiron Alexander, a 35-year-old man, has been convicted of scamming 120 free flights by posing as a flight attendant for multiple airlines over several years, as announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. Between 2018 and 2024, Alexander exploited the airline industry’s flight benefits meant for actual pilots and flight attendants. By submitting false information on airline carrier websites—including fake employer details, hire dates, and badge numbers—he managed to book flights that should only have been accessible to verified airline staff.
Alexander was found to have flown 34 times with one airline and used around 30 different fraudulent badge numbers, misleading both the airlines and airport security. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) led the investigation into his activities, revealing that he not only claimed to work for one airline but had also created false identities for three additional carriers.
Despite claiming to have been employed by an airline since November 2015, Alexander had never held a legitimate position as either a pilot or flight attendant, according to his indictment. His actions have led to serious legal consequences, including charges of wire fraud and unauthorized entry into secure airport areas.
If convicted, Alexander faces a maximum sentence of 20 years for wire fraud and up to 10 years for entering airport areas under false pretenses. Both charges could result in three years of supervised release and a potential fine of $250,000. His sentencing is scheduled for August 25, and public defenders representing him have not commented on the case.
