Ridgewood Aims for Third Consecutive Title in Girls Flag Football Championship

Ridgewood High School will seek a third straight New Jersey High School Girls Flag Football State Championship this Saturday, facing off against Bayonne at Kean Alumni Stadium, hosted by the New York Jets. As the SFC North Champions, Ridgewood enters the game with a perfect 12-0 record, having triumphed over Secaucus in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Bayonne, the SFC South Champions, also boasts an undefeated season at 11-0, defeating Hunterdon Central to secure their spot in the championship.

This marks the fifth season of the Jets’ New Jersey High School Girls Flag Football League, presented by Nike and supported by Gatorade and Visa. Launched in 2021, the league has grown from eight schools to over 90 teams across various conferences, featuring more than 2,250 athletes competing in over 450 games this season.

Before the 3:00 p.m. kickoff, the Jets will host a Youth Girls Flag Clinic for 150 young participants, focusing on developing skills and promoting the sport among girls. The championship game promises to be an exciting showcase of talent and dedication in girls flag football.
