Couch, a former National Guard member with a relatively clean record, is believed to have acted alone in the incident. The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is leading the search for the suspect in the remote woods near the shooting scene. The victims of the shooting are in stable condition and expected to survive. Laurel County Public Schools canceled classes as a precaution, and the investigation into the incident continues.
