Former NFL player Nick Mangold has joined the Delbarton Green Wave football team as their offensive line coach. Mangold, a former standout center for the New York Jets, decided to pursue coaching after finding inspiration while watching his kids play flag football. He will be working with young players like Peter Domini, Andrew Covello, and Maxim Markho to help them improve their skills on the field.
Mangold’s decision to join Delbarton is not surprising, as he spent ten years with the New York Jets and became a key player in their offensive line. He is a three-time All-Pro selection and a seven-time Pro Bowler who helped lead the Jets to multiple playoff appearances during his career. Mangold retired in 2016 after a successful career in the NFL.
Delbarton, a top competitor in New Jersey high school football, had a successful 2024 season with a 7-3 record. Despite their strong performance in the regular season, they were eliminated in the first round of the Non-Public A postseason. With Mangold now on board as their coach, the Green Wave are hoping to build on their past success and take their game to the next level in the upcoming season.
