Israeli forces have launched attacks on a mosque and a school in central Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 26 Palestinians and many others injured. This comes as part of new evacuation orders issued by the Israeli army for northern Gaza, with the military claiming that Hamas was using these locations as “command and control” centers. The overall death toll since the start of the war on Gaza a year ago has reached 41,870, with many more Palestinians injured. The Israeli military has warned residents in these areas to evacuate to already overcrowded “humanitarian zones” in al-Mawasi, alleging that Hamas is using civilians as human shields. Palestinian and United Nations officials have stated that no place in Gaza is safe, as even humanitarian zones have been repeatedly targeted by Israeli missiles. This has led to nearly all of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents being displaced at least once since the conflict began, with hundreds of thousands of people being displaced multiple times.
The situation in Gaza remains dire, with ongoing attacks by the Israeli army leading to a high number of casualties and widespread destruction. The conflict shows no signs of abating, as Israeli forces continue their military operations in various parts of the region. The international community has called for an end to the violence and a peaceful resolution to the long-standing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
