UnitedHealth Group abruptly ended their investor conference due to the incident. Thompson had been CEO of UnitedHealthcare since April 2021 and was highly respected by his colleagues. The company expressed deep sadness and shock over his death. The suspect was described as wearing all black and carrying a gray backpack, using a firearm with a silencer. Police had offered a reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest. The scene of the shooting was covered with evidence, and the investigation is ongoing.
